Jerry Sanders:

Founder / President

As the President of First Shield Financial, Jerry Sanders brings a remarkable blend of academic excellence and extensive real-world experience in real estate and mortgage note investing. Based in Jacksonville, FL, Jerry's journey in the real estate sector is as dynamic as his personal life, where he enjoys the skies as an avid pilot and cherishes time with his family, including his wife, four children, and six grandchildren.

Jerry's academic credentials are impressive: he holds an MBA in Finance from the prestigious Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This solid educational foundation has been instrumental in shaping his analytical approach to real estate investing.

For over three decades, Jerry has been deeply involved in the real estate market, specializing in the acquisition and sale of single and multi-family homes, commercial properties, undeveloped land, and mortgage notes. His expertise in mortgage note investing, in particular, has positioned him as a leader in this niche field. Jerry's approach combines a keen understanding of market trends with a meticulous evaluation of investment opportunities, ensuring both security and profitability for his clients and investors.

Kim Brown:

Partner

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades at a Fortune 50 company, Kim brings a wealth of experience in operations, management, and compliance to the realm of company product development. Having held various senior positions, Kim developed a deep understanding of the intricacies of corporate finance and regulatory compliance, skills that now greatly benefit clients in the mortgage note investment endeavors.

Post-retirement, Kim transitioned into the role of a Mortgage Note Investor, with a desire to leverage Real Estate and Mortgage Note Investment experiences to provide guidance on safe and secure asset classes that offer superior returns, particularly for those approaching or in retirement.

Kim specializes in connecting investors with high-quality, vetted investment opportunities. This service is underpinned by a commitment to due diligence, transparency, and adherence to the highest ethical standards, ensuring that investors receive reliable and valuable advice for their investment portfolios.

Kim' s approach is centered around the belief that retirement planning should be both secure and profitable. By focusing on mortgage notes as a key investment strategy, Kim provides insights to mortgage note investments with the tools and knowledge necessary to offer investors an alternative asset class that balances risk and return effectively.

Steve Johnson:

Portfolio Manager

Steve Johnson is an experienced professional in mortgage note investing with a strong background in real estate and mobile home financing. He began his career in real estate shortly after college, which laid the foundation for his work in the mobile home industry, providing financing solutions for buyers.

Before real estate, Steve worked in live theater as a technical director and scenic designer, which honed his attention to detail and project management skills. His experience also includes property management in Central Illinois, where he managed tax credit housing and single-family residences, leading to his role in overseeing operations for a partnership that owns 14 mobile home parks across the Midwest.

Currently, as a partner with First Shield Financial, Steve focuses on forging partnerships and pursuing investment opportunities in non-performing notes, aiming to diversify income and achieve financial stability.

His leadership in managing virtual assistant teams highlights his commitment to fostering environments that promote success. Steve is known for his innovative approach and dedication to the mortgage note investing sector.

Henry Garner:

Board Member

Henry Garner brings a great deal of experience and talent to the team. He is currently a Project Manager with Lenserf & Co., Inc. Mr. Garner has 25 plus years of experience in the Financial Services industry. He served as the Managing Director of BVFR & Associates, LLC, a privately held, minority owned, investment-banking firm in Baltimore, Maryland, engaged in creative financing for the benefit of clients in the public and private sectors.

Mr. Garner’s initial record in public service propelled him to a professional engagement in Finance. A veteran who proudly served the Louisiana Army National Guard, he began investigating merger and non-merger conduct for the Federal Trade Commission. There he assisted with Uniform

Commercial Code and Securities and Exchange Commission filings, mergers and articles of incorporation. He later became a co-founder of XI Interactive, Inc. a boutique computer game design firm.

Mr. Garner graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Grambling State University. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Capella University. Additionally, he also holds a paralegal certification with a

business law concentration from the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Garner is also a social champion. He proudly served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Blood Services Region in Baltimore, Maryland

from 2003-2012 and sat on its African-American Donor Recruitment Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the CAMBIO Group’s Board of Directors and sits on its Paul Robeson Academic International School of Excellence (P.R.A.I.S.E.) committee.
